SBI! Valet — FAQ
I can preview the page just fine in Internet Explorer, but Firefox gives me a "Page not found" message. What's up?
This happens on Windows Vista. All you need to do is right click on the SBI! Valet shortcut and choose "Run as Administrator" from the menu that pops up. This will let you preview pages both in Internet Explorer and Firefox.
Whoa! SBI! Valet tells me I don't have Firefox installed. But I do have it installed and use it everyday.
This happens when the registry settings for Firefox somehow got corrputed. It's rare, but it happens.
All you need to do is uninstall Firefox, and then do a fresh, new installation after downloading the latest copy. You can get Firefox here (link opens in a new window).
Can I use SBI! Valet to preview my HTML page if it uses CSS?
Yes!
However, if you reference the CSS directly from your site, you will need to stay connected to the Internet to be able to preview the page properly. This is kind of obvious, since your CSS file will need to be downloaded from your site.
Also, if you make any changes to the CSS file, be sure to upload it to SBI! using Quick Reupload It!, or you will not be able to see the latest changes while previewing.
To get around the above, you should reference the CSS file using a relative URL, so that SBI! Valet knows to pick the CSS file from the support-files folder on your computer.
Are you going to release a Mac version of SBI! Valet?
Er, no.
The reason is not that I like Windows more than I like Mac. The reason is that I don't have the technical expertise at this time to be able to create a similar program for Macs.
But I still love you. Honest!
And you can still use SBI! Valet on a Mac if you use a Windows emulator.
Do you accept other forms of payment than PayPal?
Not at this time. :-(
The whole process is integrated with PayPal and its payment notification system. Another advantage of using PayPal is that they accept a variety of payment methods and currencies, so it makes things easier for everyone involved, including you. Plus they are trustworthy.
If you don't have a PayPal account, you can still pay for SBI! Valet. Just click the order button and fill in the details. You can also choose to open a PayPal account, if you want.
